SOUTHERN GLOSSARY is a web-based zine about art, culture, & performance across the South.

There is a South unburdened by archetypes or stereotypes, full of art and enterprise. We offer clear writing that promotes and supports talented artists, valuable art institutions, and the communities both serve. We are based in New Orleans.

The Southern Glossary Instagram account rotates curators each week. Artists from all over the region volunteer to share their visual art, photography, or documentary work. A Q&A with each artist is posted here on the site along with highlighted images.

Every six months we compile a zine collecting images from our curators, along with essays and interviews. Issue #1 is available here, and Issue #2 will be printed in late spring 2016.
